DCSS Volunteers at Addenbrookes Dementia Awareness Day

Gillian, Sara, Edye, Brian, Julia, Maggie and Barry

Last week, I joined the other volunteers helping to staff the dementia awareness table at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.  This has been an on-going effort to have advice and information available to both hospital staff and visitors about dementia services both in the hospital and in the community.  We had a good selection of community services there last week including Dementia Compass, the Dementia Carers’ Support Service and Alzheimer’s Society along with Sara, Maria and Adrian who organise and support the day.  I have written about the awareness days before, so I won’t go into detail about the impact, instead I’ll just say that it’s really good to have the variety of expertise at the table and lovely to see it benefit the public.

The next dementia awareness days at Addenbrooke’s: 25 July, 12 September and 14 November.
