It is our pleasure to announce our upcoming art appreciation course, Portals to the World, designed specially for people with dementia and their carers.
Each week we will gather in one of the galleries for a short talk by a Museum staff member, followed by a hands-on experience, either handling related art objects or a practical art activity.
This nine week cultural journey is a partnership project with The Fitzwilliam Museum and kindly supported by the Rayne Foundation.
Tuesdays, 11 September – 6 November
FREE but BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
Please note that this course will be repeated in February 2013.
If you are interested in more information, please contact Edye.
We have all read in the media the importance of physical fitness at any age but if you’re support a person with dementia, this can be particularly challenging when the existing exercise offerings don’t suit both your needs. Starting in May, dementiaCOMPASS will partner with the Cambridge ForeverActive programme and the NHS Community Service for Falls Prevention to offer a ten-week fitness programme designed to support people living with dementia, both persons with a diagnosis of dementia and their carers.
If you are interested in more information, please contact Edye Hoffmann or Leisha O’Brien on the telephone numbers or email addresses provided above.
