Just a taste.

The Fitzwilliam Museum and dementiaCOMPASS are pleaseFitzwilliam Museumd to invite you to attend an Open Day on 19 June.  This is an opportunity to have a wander around the museum, to meet some of the fantastic museum staff and to get a taste of our upcoming art course.

We will meet at the museum at 2pm, gather for a short art talk by a museum staff member and then proceed to a reserved education room for a relaxed hands-on demonstration where you have the choice of participating or observing.  This is a taste of what our autumn course will offer.  We will end promptly at 4pm at which time you are free to visit the museum further.

This course is a collaboration with the Fitzwilliam Museum and supports people living with dementia, both the person with the diagnosis and his or her care partner.  We have built on the Museum’s ten years of experience and commitment working with people with dementia, added the expertise of dementiaCOMPASS and incorporated recent evidence of the value of social opportunities and art experience to develop a dynamic and enjoyable experience for both care partners.  This isn’t our first course offering, but follows a pilot we offered in 2011.

If you would like more information about the open day or the art course, or you would like to reserve spaces for June 19th, please contact us below, either through the contact form or by adding a comment.
