Portals to the World – one week to go!

This is just a brief update to anyone who may be considering our upcoming Portals to the World art appreciation course.

We have a couple of spaces remaining for this course!

Starting next week we will meet weekly for nine weeks, first to gather in one of the galleries for a short talk by a Museum staff member which is followed by a hands-on experience, either handling related art objects or a practical art activity. This cultural journey is a collaboration with the Fitzwilliam Museum and supports people living with dementia: both the person with memory challenges and his or her care partner.  We have built on the Museum’s ten years of experience and commitment working with people with dementia, added the expertise of dementiaCOMPASS and incorporated recent evidence of the value of social opportunities and art experience to develop a dynamic and enjoyable experience for both care partners.
